Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition
It was in the month of July 2010 when i received an invitation from Al Bwardy Marine Engineering to visit the Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition from 26th to 28 October 2010. I never heard about this exhibition from the last 5 years that i was working on this company so i got interested to visit the event. I registered online and got my confirmation right away with my badge reference number 989.
Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition is the region’s leading event for the maritime and shipping industry and being one of the marine services company in town, this event would somehow help us find a new suppliers or new clients to our business.
I came to the event almost few minutes before His Excellency Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, chairman of Dubai World and DP World inagurated the event.

Then i went around the exhibition hall, took some calling cards and brochures from some of the participating companies which might be our future suppliers, charterers and repair and maintenance agent.

Some of the companies shown above happened to be one of our suppliers/agent before and even up to now.
It’s me during the event… I went home so tired that day carrying a bag of souvenirs, calling cards and brochures. It’s really good that i have visited the exhibition as i don’t need to search a possible clients or suppliers from the internet or from yellow pages since I had the shipping directory all over U.A.E.
But other than visiting the event, the reason why i registered to this exhibition was that I wanted to have one day off. It only took me an hour at DICEC – Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition so i had some time at home, sleeping and watching movies while leaving all other office works for the next day.

I think we probably will end up in America because he would be giving up much more to come and live here. If you want to work in film, that’s really where you have to be. But I’m not sure that being an ex-pat is very good for one’s sense of self.
